Social Networking, commonly referred to as Web 2.0, is the new landscape in how people on the internet interact with each other.
In the past most communication was only possible via email.Then IRC chat rooms, once the hangout for those in uni and techy land, became public chat rooms.
Instant messaging appeared with the likes of MSN and ICQ. Others joined in the frey with Yahoo and many others.
The scene was set, people were looking for better and more fun ways for people to connect and when they did, the people came in their droves to use the tools they had created.
MySpace, Facebook and one of the silent risers has been Twitter.
This is only a short summary of the history that has lead to and is becoming the peoples place in the land called the Internet!
