What is it?
TweetGlide is a program that you might call “cutting edge technology” as it’s employing Adobe’s new platform – called Adobe Air.
Which brings a whole new look to computer applications and like Java, it’ll run on any platform with the “Adobe Air” being installed for the users operating system. So Linux, Mac OS and Windows are catered for.
So, for this to all work you need to visit Adobe’s website ( the link is provided on the TweetGlide website) and install the Free system. Then you can download TweetGlide and be up and running in no time.
Features:
You get a new view into your Twitter World and what a view it is. It’s a series of Panels, each with a different view into your Twitter world, which you can customize. As in you can disable Views.
At a glance you can see the latest posts as you would on your Twitter page which appears in the 1st panel.
Next comes some Sponsored Tweets. There is a system in place where you , if you Tweet through the system you can earn credits. Once you earn a certain amount, you can have an Ad ( one of your own Ads that is ) appear on others peoples TwetGlide Page. This all brings back memories of “Dont-Touch-My-Ads.com“.
The next panel shows your @Mentions. So if anyone has mentioned you in any Tweet, they’ll be there.
The next panel shows your Direct messages. So when someones sent you a direct message you can see them at a glance.
And there is more…
The benefits.
Two things stand out. One is the ability to see your Twitter World at a Glance. This it does very nicely. In fact I picked up a “mention” that I needed to reply to. One I’ve obviously missed in the past.
The second benefit, which is probably more a “This is smart stuff” matter than anything else, is it’s interface. As I’ve mentioned, it runs under Adobes Air platform and it’s been very well thought out in it’s layout. Although, initially, it’s a bit shocking to see so much “Stuff” in front of you. It is a bit overwhelming in that regard. But it’s neat, crisp and unclutterd,
And It’s very Functional.
Although I have found one or two gremlins lurking, I’m in contact with their support and getting things sorted out. One would expect a few hiccups. I’m guessing this has just been released today or yesterday, so it’s very new.
It’s definitely something you’d get comfortable with in a short amount of time.
Yes, it’s monetized!
Yes, this is definitely monetized, meaning you can make a few bucks out of it.
There is the advertising aspect, where you can promote your Business /Service to other TweetGlide users. You can earn money as an Affiliate, so by promoting this using your “special” link you are provided with ( mine is http://www.TweetGlide.com/TimBrownlaw ), anyone joining under you and making any purchases in the future will earn you a few dollars.
That aside, it does stand up by itself as something very handy if you are a serious Tweeter. If nothing else, if gives you a nice focused look into what you are doing and what others are doing to you, in Twitter Land.
